Ok, thankfully the outcomes of the review into NDIS changes have now been presented and we can all digest the potential impacts.

At first read of all the available information, it looks to me like most of the changes are not only necessary, but in the best interests of all responsible participants.

In short, the changes are meant to advantage participants with evidence-based disabilities, whilst articulating a clear delineation of the roles of the Federal and State Government to ensure a dilution of duplicity.

For mine there now seems to be a better understanding of what the terms Fair and Reasonable actually look like, and whilst this will continue to be a work in progress from all parties, I think that the changes should mean a stronger NDIS Program long term.

The information presented by the Federal government highlight that the reforms are intended to address rising costs and improve access to necessary supports. For participants, this means potentially quicker access to funding and services, more tailored support options, and an overall commitment to ensuring that the NDIS remains viable for current and future users. However, the adjustments to eligibility criteria may also lead to some individuals reassessing their access to the scheme. Overall, the changes signal a proactive approach to strengthen the NDIS and better meet the needs of those with disabilities.

At DEO we understand the importance of remaining updated whilst continuing to curate the products in our site to not only ensure they are necessary and beneficial but also conform to the new regulations as outlined by the government as announced.

We do understand that change can be concerning, but I give my undertaking that our team will work closely with you to explain these new rules and inform you of any items that may be unlikely to be processed for payment. We understand that it is essential to stay updated to ensure your funds are spent according to your plan and within NDIS guidelines and that each participant works closely with their play managers and / or keep in touch with any information offered by the NDIA that will take an educative approach for all participants, carers and managers.

Please, I encourage you to reach out to discuss any concerns that you have, as we are very keen to work together to ensure that we all comply.

Until next time,

Live Your Best Life!
